Building electricians install, support, and troubleshoot electrical wiring systems. They ensure that electrically operated equipment and services are maintained in top running condition and in compliance with safety standards.

What a TRIDENT Submarine Electronics Technician Command and Control System Does

Supervise or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of interior electrical systems and equipment, such as service panels, switches, and electrical boxes Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications Employ the appropriate equipment to test the operational condition of circuits Climb utility poles and operate special purpose vehicles and equipment, including line maintenance and high-reach trucks to inspect, maintain, and repair overhead distribution systems Install, maintain, and repair interior, exterior, overhead, underground electrical power distribution systems and components such as capacitor banks, vacuum and air break switches, breakers, transformers, fuses, lighting fixtures, receptacles, and motors Prepare cost estimates for in-service work; apply engineered performance standards to plan and estimate jobs Advise on problems encountered with the installation and repair of electrical power distribution and special purpose electrical systems Use meters, testing devices, indicators, and recorders to identify and isolate equipment, distribution, and motor controller malfunctions and faults Diagnose malfunctions and recommend appropriate repair procedures to correct defective equipment

Training Provided for a TRIDENT Submarine Electronics Technician Command and Control System While Serving

All enlisted service members complete basic military training, which includes time spent in a classroom and in the field, and covers tactical and survival skills, physical training, military life and customs, and weapons training.
